The Evolution of Cancer and Movement As a Therapeutic Intervention
There exists a large body of evidence that those who participate in higher levels of physical activity have a reduced likelihood of developing a variety of cancers compared to those who engage in lower levels of physical activity. What role does fat as fuel play in cancer progression? It will be proposed that although most of us are aware that physical exercise is important, we are less familiar with the underlying biological mechanisms and how best to use exercise/physical activity as medicine. There will be a discussion of glucose and lipids in the role of cancer growth and proliferation.
